Which Is the Best Smartwatch for Business?

April 9, 2015 By Daniel Dob Leave a Comment

Smart watches are becoming increasingly popular, mainly because they are now more functional and looks better in general. Newer products, including the upcoming Apple Watch and the recently introduced LG G  R Watch Urbane, are showing not only great design improvement, but also a long list of new features that will attract personal and business users alike. The Moto 360

When it comes to smart watches, the Moto 360 from Motorola is still the watch to look up to. A lot of newer smart watches are using Moto 360 as a benchmark. Moto 360 is the first smartwatch to feature a rounded display. Although it is not a perfect circle, the nearly bezel-less display looks gorgeous.

The overall design of Moto 360 offers a very industrial look, perfect for those who want a smartwatch. Feature-wise, the Android Wear-powered smartwatch can do virtually anything you need it to do. Android Wear does offer a wealth of new features with its latest update. Better search, better overall user experience and support for more business apps mean the Moto 360 is a capable smartwatch worth considering.

LG G Watch R & Urbane

The LG G Watch R is the next smartwatch that features a rounded display. Unlike Moto 360, LG offers a truly circular display with a slightly thicker bezel around it. You may not get that sleek, industrial look you get from the Moto 360, but that doesn’t mean the LG G Watch R is ugly at all.

For a more premium look, you can also opt for the LG G Watch Urbane. This is an enhanced, luxury version of the R. With better, slightly slimmer design, a thinner bezel and a choice of straps and accessories to choose from, the LG G Watch Urbane is quickly becoming the hottest Android Wear smartwatch on the market.

Since both of these watches uses the same Android Wear version as the Moto 360, you can expect them to be just as capable. In fact, the LG G Watch R and G Watch Urbane are slightly faster than the Moto 360, thanks to their improved processors. You can also expect to have better screen and a longer battery life when opting for these two smart watches.

Apple Watch

We can’t really talk about smart watches without talking about the new Apple Watch. Announced a few months ago and scheduled to be on sale this April, the Apple Watch is said to be the smartwatch that will make wearables very popular.

Apple uses the same recipe of superb user experience in the Apple Watch. There are hundreds of apps already available for the Apple Watch, including a long list of productivity apps. Apple Pay, Maps and other apps are also natively available with even before the Apple Watch is officially on sale.

These are all great smart watches to choose from. Which one is the best? It all comes down to which ecosystem you are comfortable with the most. Android users would want to opt for the Android Wear-based options, whilst Apple users will have to wait for the Apple Watch to be on sale soon.

Based on everything that has been outlined so far, my personal recommendation would be to pick the Apple Watch in the case that you are more business oriented and are looking for a smartwatch with a ton of features, or go ahead and consider the other watches that have been mentioned in the article in the case that you care more about design, but still want to have a good number of features included. There are also other devices such as the Cogito smartwatch which look great, but lack a good number of features, but if you do not want a smartwatch filled with these, then you can go ahead and take a look at smartwatches like these as well.
