Whatsapp cannot send images after update?

August 27, 2014 By Nwosu Desmond 3 Comments

Have you updated your Whatsapp application and it cannot send images anymore? This seems to be a common problem for most iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S2 users. After updating the Whatsapp application on these devices among others, they seem to have problems sending images.

This is different from the “Whatsapp failed out of memory please try again later” as it simply says “sending failed, try again later”. If you are having the common “Whatsapp failed, out of memory please try again later” error, you can simply follow the fix I shared in the article to fix your problem.

But in this article, I will be dealing with those who simply cannot send photos after updating their Whatsapp or those who get “sending failed, try again later” when they try to send a photo on Whatsapp.

Whatsapp cannot send images after update?

While some of the methods shared on the link above may still work for this type of error, this particular error seems to occur as a result of some changes caused to the rights on the gallery folder by the update.

This is not really a Whatsapp problem; it’s simply an android problem after the update. So far the only solution to the “sending failed, try again later” error is to let Android fix the gallery directory link by itself.

How to fix Whatsapp “sending failed, try again later” error

1. Simply backup your gallery folder on a computer

2. Then delete the /DCIM/Gallery folder on your smartphone

3. Then launch the Gallery app on your Android so the Gallery folder can be re-created by Android automatically.

4. Now you can re-connect it to your PC and copy back the contents you backed up from it earlier

5. Restart your smartphone and try sending photos again.

This should simply work for you. I have tried it in several smartphones having the “sending failed, try again later” error and it worked every time.

So if your Whatsapp cannot send images after update, simply follow the instructions above and fix it.

Let me know if this worked for you through the comments below. Remember to share with your friends, you never know who you may be helping.
