Twitter’s New ‘Vine’ Video Streaming

In today’s fast moving world, social networking sites have become the in thing. Twitter is one of the most commonly used networking sites. It allows a user to send as well as read text messages of about 140 characters. These text messages are known as ‘Tweets’. Twitter has above 500 million users. Recently, Twitter launched its new video application called ‘Vine’. This application has been one of Twitters biggest investments. This application has generated a lot of buzz around. Well Twitter allows a user to create a short video of a maximum of 6 seconds in length and share it live on the Twitter stream or among Vine network users. While announcing the launch of Vine on their blog, Twitter said that videos that would appear on Vine would foster creativity just like the tweets.

Currently this application can be downloaded free of cost and is only available on the iPhone and iPad Touch. According to sources it will be coming soon to other platforms too.

Here’s how you get started with Twitter’s Vine:

1. Once you download the Vine application on your iPhone or iPad Touch, you need to sign in using either your Twitter account or email address. It is best to sign in using your Twitter account. The welcome screen looks pretty good and has a video of a hot air balloon playing in the background.

2. Vine then uses your information from your Twitter account to create an account for the app.

3. You then need to enter the name you would like to use for your Vine account.

4. Once done you can try and find some of your friends and follow them. You can find friends by searching your iPhone address book, or looking for friends who are already on Twitter Vine and even through Facebook. But, it is to be noted according to some sources Facebook has blocked Twitter’s Vine application from using its services to find friends. And whenever one tries to use this service a pop up message stating, “Vine is not authorized to make this Facebook request” shows up. However there has been no official comment regarding this.

5. After you have added friends, you can browse their videos, like them or even comment on them. You can also browse the videos that are available in the Vine community or go through the Vine Editor’s picks.

6. Now it is finally time for you to create your own Vine video! It is very simple, all you need to do is focus your camera on what you want to record and tap the camera icon on the screen. What makes this app really unique is the fact that you don’t have to shoot the complete 6 second video in one go. It allows you to do it in fragments of three. The video is recorded only as long as you touch the screen. The moment you remove your finger it immediately stops recording. Once you are done you just need to tap the “Next” button to post your video.

7. In case you would like to play your video or any other video, all you need to do is scroll to that video and it will keep playing it in a continuous loop till you move on to another video.

8. This new application from Twitter is definitely going to be a great platform in time to come especially for business houses.
