Samsung Galaxy S4 Smartphones pushed design boundaries far, but the Lenovo K900 pushed design boundaries even further. The Samsung Galaxy S4 and Lenovo K900 can be said to be two Smartphones from another world. Just recently, Samsung released the Samsung Galaxy S4 and it instantly ruled over all Smartphones in the market but its reign may not last long as Lenovo decided to challenge by releasing at CES 2013 the Lenovo K900 Smartphone.
These two phones are currently ranked as the best Android Smartphones in the market today. In this article I want to compare the two Smartphones to see how they hold out against each other. It’s no more news that the Lenovo K900 smashed the Benchmark record of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Samsung Galaxy S4 and Lenovo K900 Benchmark Result
So let’s see how Samsung Galaxy S4 compares with Lenovo K900 Smartphone, i will base my comparisons on design, display, hardware, memory, and camera etc;
Design:
Both Smartphones run on Android 4.2 OS, Lenovo K900 weighs 162g as against 130g by Samsung Galaxy S4. The dimensions of Lenovo K900 are 6.18 x 3.07 x 0.27 inches as against 5.38 x 2.75 0.31 inches of the Samsung Galaxy S4. So if you choice is based on sleekness and weight, Lenovo K900 is slimmer, while Samsung Galaxy S4 is lighter and sleeker.
Display:
The Lenovo K900 is 5.5 inches wide with 1080 x 1920 Pixels resolution and 401 ppi pixel density as against the 5.0 inches, 1080 x 1920 pixels and 441 ppi pixel density of the Samsung Galaxy S4.Lenovo K900 is made of IPS LCD while Samsung Galaxy S4 is made with Super AMOLED which generally has better brightness and vibrant colors. This means the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a better Smartphone display. But if you are considering bigger screen size then Lenovo K900 is the better choice.
Hardware:
Lenovo K900 is the first Smartphone to use the Intel Atom Z2580 System chip. It also has a Dual Core 2000 MHz, Saltwell Processor and a PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 graphics processor with a 2GB RAM as against the Exynos 5 Octa System chip and 8-core, 1600 MHz 91.6 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 and 1.2 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7) processor, PowerVR SGX544MP3 graphics processor and a 2GB RAM of the Samsung Galaxy S4. You must agree with me that both Smartphones were built with enough hardware to run any app.
As you know more processors more power, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is definitely a faster deice of the two. While the Intel chipset of the Lenovo K900 seems to be better than the Qualcomm snapdragon 600 it is not as fast as the Exynos 5-Octa of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Memory:
Both Smartphones has a 16 GB built-in storage capacity but their only memory difference lies in their storage expansion capacity. While Samsung Galaxy S4 can support additional external storage capacity of 64GB, Lenovo K900 can only support 32GB.
Camera:
Both Smartphones come with a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. But in truth the Samsung Galaxy S4 has better camera options than the Lenovo K900. Few features present in the Samsung Galaxy S4 absent in the Lenovo K900 include the burst mode, dual camera record, image stabilization, sound & Shot. Both have a max video capture resolution of 1080p and 1920 x 1080 pixel screen resolutions.
Must Read: Why you shouldn’t buy Samsung Galaxy S4 if you already own Galaxy S3
Both devices have a lot of other features in common as other Smartphones but the main differences have been highlighted above. The Smartphone war is getting fiercer as consumers now consider a lot of features in choosing the right Smartphones for use. Lenovo K900 is the cheaper of the two phones and this may be a good reason for a high competition with the Samsung Galaxy S4. Yet the S4 will have a better performance, features and promises as Samsung is known to be.

Thanks for your comment Babanature and don’t worry someday soon you will earn more than enough to have the both phones.
I like the look of the Lenovo Nwosu. Both carry a number of similar features, but the Lenovo’s appearance would push me to buy it.
I do intend to pick up some more tech-friendly apps soon. Heading to travel again in 16 hours and I need a bit more than my laptop to stay plugged in on the road.
Thanks!
Though the Lenovo has only been released in China i bet its an awesome Smartphone and i cant imagine what those guys at XDA Developer’s forum will do with the device.
Nice comparison which both have similar feature but samsung can dominate lenovo due to marketing assumption of brand name and also galaxy s4 already got major hit among users
Surely but free minded people who do not get so attached to brand like me can see how Lenovo K900 performs compared to Samsung Galaxy S4 and make a different choice.
Never knew lenovo can compete Samsung in anything. I was thinking Samsung galaxy S4 is by far best smartphone on earth.
Lenovo K900 is an awesome Smartphone and yes Lenovo now has a product that can compete with Samsung.
That’s a very cool comparison man,
I also love the Samsung galazy S4 but, from what you wrote here, if i have the money now, i will go for Lenovo K900. Men, what is the world turning into?
I can’t just imagine that a phone possesses all those features, its incredible man. But, just as Babanature said, they are still at the high side for now, lets keep our fingers crossed and hope they come down soon.
Thanks for sharing Desmond.
