RockMelt: The Social Web Browser – Netmediablog

October 7, 2012 By Nwosu Desmond 4 Comments

RockMelt is a social web browser built on Google’s Chromium browser framework with social media integration (You know Google Chrome is now the world’s favorite web browser and I am the biggest fan and an addicted user). Though just another social web browser after Flock browser, RockMelt has the potentials of surviving where Flock did not succeed. RockMelt is a fast web browser because it was built on Chrome’s framework and this browser is as safe as Google Chrome as well.

RockMelt is indeed an amazing WOWser as the developers called it. It allows you to access your social media networks like Facebook and Twitter right from its user interface. It’s awesome UI includes Social Sharing, Social Omnibox, Awesome New Tab etc.  Your friend’s birthday alerts, profile links and many more are available from the Awesome New Tab. The developers of RockMelt also had those that access the internet with a slow speed (2G Connections) in mind while developing this social web browser.

Real time updates built directly into the social web browser, with RockMelt you are sure not to miss your favorite blog’s RSS feed or sport team news etc. RockMelt has web apps that can be installed and run right from the browser. RockMelt’s App Center has a lot of apps to choose from.  RockMelt simply makes it easy for users to do the things they do every single day on the internet, share and keep up with friends, while remaining updated with the latest information and news around the web.

How to Download RockMelt Browser:

Visit RockMelt’s website and click on the big green ‘Download’ button.

Download RockMelt

The RockMeltSetup.exe will pop up for download, on completion of download install the social web browser. The installation will require an internet connection to download the extra files from its server.

On successful installation you will be required to login to your Facebook account, simply enter your correct Facebook username and password and click the login button. You will be prompted to invite your friends to use RockMelt, you can skip this stage or you can go ahead to invite your friends.

The browser will reload and request for your Facebook permission which you will have to grant it by clicking the allow button.
