It is quite easy to attach small files and send them to someone in another location via email. But the case is different for large files. How do you send a 2GB file or even bigger to a friend in another location in real-time? Sometime ago in this blog I wrote about how to send large files easily via a free file sharing site called JustBeamIt but today I want to expand on that topic and give you several alternatives to this type of service that will easily allow you to share large files with your friends online in real-time.
Free file sharing sites are sites that allow you to send large files on your browser and the recipient on the other side can simply download the shared file in real-time.
Free File Sharing Sites:
File Dropper: File Dropper is a free file sharing site that allows you to share large files up to 5GB with your friends over your browser. Simply upload your files and share your personal link with your friends and they can download the uploaded files instantly.
YouSendit: YouSendit has both free and premium file sharing services, though most of its features are on the premium services the free service is still enough to share large files up to 100MB with your friends.
Files Over Miles: Files Over Miles is a browser to browser free file sharing site that allows you to share files no matter their sizes with anyone by simply uploading the file and sharing the unique URL with your friends to download the file. Files Over Miles is unique because you could password-protect the file.
Send Tool: Send Tool is yet another free file sharing site that lets you share files with anyone by simply uploading the file to their server and then a unique URL will be generated for you to share with anyone you want to download the file. The only limitation is that you can’t share more than 16MB with this service.
GigaSize: GigaSize is a free file sharing site that allows you to share large files with your friends. Just like most free file sharing sites, GigaSize works on same principle of allowing you to upload the files you want to share and then a unique URL will be generated for you to share with whomever you want to download the files you uploaded instantly. With GigaSize you can upload files as large as 600MB and can store it for atleast 45 days in a free account. You can even share 10 files of 300MB/file without registration.
