How to sync your iPhone with winamp

November 19, 2012 By Nwosu Desmond 2 Comments

Winamp is one of my favorite media players for Windows as it is fast and supports multiple audio and video formats like mp3, aac, wav, ogg, midi ,avi, mpeg, asf etc. Its UI is so awesome with simple design and a lot more. So if you are an iPhone or iPhod owner but for some reasons you just do not like iTunes, then Winamp is all you need to sync your device.

Winamp media player can allow you import songs/playlist from iPod/iPhones to your computer and can also allow you to add songs to your iPod/iPhone. I prefer this method to using iTunes as I don’t have to worry about losing my songs when I sync with a different computer. Now let’s see how to sync your iPhone with Winamp media player.

How to sync your iPhone with winamp:

Step 1:

First download and install the Winamp media player if you don’t already have it installed in your system.

Step 2:

Connect your iPhone to your computer, click on portables and select your device by clicking on its name.

Step 3:

At the bottom pane, click on the ‘Sync’ button to see the number of songs to be copied into and from your device, you can either ‘Leave them’, ‘Delete them’ or ‘Copy them’ to local media. Using the ‘More’ button on the Sync Window; you can remove songs before syncing.

Step 4:

Click the ‘Ok’ button to begin your syncing, you can see the progress of the syncing  by clicking on the Portable button. On 100% your local media library and your iPhone device will be synced.

Playlists can as well be created on your iPhone and songs added to it using Winamp media player. You can as well manually add selected songs to your device if you do not want to add the whole media library by simply selecting the songs and dragging them to your device’s name on the portables.

Now I hope you can add more songs to your iPhone when next you visit your friend from his computer without losing your own songs, you can as well share your own songs with him by importing from your device to his library. In this spirit of sharing, please use share this post as well with your friends. I hope you subscribe to my RSS feeds. Use the comment form below to tell me what you think of this article.
