How to share Pdproxy or Sandwich VPN and other VPNs with wireless devices

October 4, 2012 By Nwosu Desmond 31 Comments

Do you have wireless devices that you wished you could connect to the internet by sharing the internet connection on your laptop? Just recently I was wondering how to update my mobile phone firmware and I was faced with the challenge of sharing my laptop’s fast Pdproxy VPN internet connection with my phone.  So I decided to try a simple trick and to my utmost surprise it worked. Since then I can now be able to connect wireless devices to my laptop, my friends and I can now surf from our mobile phones whenever my laptops’s internet connection is up and running. I want to share with you how I was able to share my laptops Pdproxy VPN connection to my wireless devices. This method will also work for Sandwich VPN or any other VPN out there.

How to turn your laptop to a WiFi Hotspot using Connectify:

To create a WiFi hotspot on your laptop you will need software called connectify which will connect you ‘wirelessly’ to your computer acting as an access point to your wireless devices. Connectify allows you to share internet connections to several wireless devices at a time acting as a primary router.

Requirements:

A laptop computer with an internet connection

Wireless devices like mobile phones, iPads etc

Connectify software

How to share Pdproxy or Sandwich VPN with wireless devices:

Now let’s get started, first you have to download the Connectify software from this link. It comes in two versions the free version (Connectify Lite) and the paid version (Connectify Pro). If you can’t afford to purchase the Pro version the Lite version will work perfectly too. Simply enter your email on the box provided and click the green ‘Download Now’ button to start your download.

On successful download, install the Connectify application on your laptop. Reboot/restart your computer after the installation.

Next it to configure your Connectify program. Launch the just installed Connectify Program, you will notice there are two tabs, the ‘Settings’ and ‘Client’ tabs.

How to share your Pdproxy or Sandwich VPN with your wireless devices

Under the settings tab, enter your desired hotspot name, it could be anything or you can leave it at default, it doesn’t matter.

Next, enter your password. This password will be needed for all devices trying to connect to your hotspot. It should be at least 8 characters.

Then under internet to share, choose your VPN  internet access. Remember when you were installing your Pdproxy or Sandwich VPN a TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 was installed on your computer, so this adapter is the network profile to share.

Then click the ‘Start Hotspot’ button to initiate a hotspot on your laptop. When the hotspot has been initialized, you can now be able to connect wireless devices on it.

To connect a wireless device to your hotspot, simply search for wireless networks in range with your wireless device, once you find the hotspot you just created, connect to it, password will be required to successfully connect to this hotspot.

How to share your Pdproxy or Sandwich VPN with your wireless devices

Under the Clients tab, you will notice the number of connected wireless devices on your laptop’s hotspot.

Now this is how I share my Pdproxy and Sandwich VPN with my wireless devices, I can now be able to stream multimedia on my phones, make Skype calls, download faster and even share large files using the shared hotspot on my laptop. I hope you too can be able to share your own connection and enjoy your Pdproxy or Sandwich VPN on your wireless devices.

I am using Hotspot Shield Free VPN. However free version is ad supported, but its good from all other available free vpn’s. You can surf anonymously and access all blocked websites using HSS.

    Check it out here: http://www.hotspotshield.com

PDPROXY is not too good with connectify it shares the internet but your mobile phone wont be able to browse they only connect for other applicationn but you wont be able to browse.
SANDWICH conncts & all your device (phones& computer & any other tab) browse the net when you share with connectify.

I guess PDPROXY people should work on their own software.

How do you mean by pdproxy wont browse with your phone, i browse with mine and i have tested it with iPad, Symbian and Android phones and it browses…check your configuration. I set my Opera mini to see your wi-fi, go to settings>advanvced>connection set it to always ask you for which connection to use, so whenever you wanna browse with opera mini a list of yur access points will show including connectify.

No you don’t have to make any changes to your Tap-32 driver. Ensure your connection is actually surfing before sharing the network.

If your tablet can detect the WiFi signal and connect with it using the security key you entered on your connectify, there is no reason why it shouldn’t surf. Try it using Pdproxy.
