To unlock most modems you will require their (International Mobile Equipment Identity) IMEI number but in a scenario where the modem pack is lost and the IMEI number usually printed on the body of the modem has cleaned off, how can one find the IMEI number of his modem?
It doesn’t matter if the modem is a ZTE or Huawei modem, the unlock code of flash code of a 3G USB modem can only be calculated with the modem IMEI number. Just recently a visitor asked me how he can find his modem IMEI number because he couldn’t find the pack and the IMEI number engraved on the modem has cleaned off, then I released how challenging it could be for people who do not know how they can find their modem IMEI number once they don’t have the modem pack in their possession anymore, so I decided to write this tutorial to teach you how you can always find modem IMEI number from the modem dashboard.
How to find modem IMEI number – ZTE Modem (MTN):
To find the IMEI number of a ZTE modem, simply follow the steps below;
Plug in the 3G USB ZTE modem on your PC and what for it awhile to initialize. Once it can show network signal, click on settings to open the settings panel
Then click on the System tab and click on the “Diagnostics” button.
How to find modem IMEI number – Huawei Modem (MTN):
To find the IMEI number of a Huawei modem, simply follow the steps below;
Plug in your Huawei modem to your PC and allow it to initialize, then once you can see the network signal on the dashboard, click on settings select Device Status to reveal the IMEI number of your Huawei modem.
How to find modem IMEI number – Huawei modem (GLO):
The Glo dashboard is a little different from that of MTN discussed above, so to find the IMEI number of your GLO Huawei modem simply follow the steps discussed below;
Plug in your Huawei modem to your PC and allow it to initialize, and then once you can see the network signal on the dashboard, click on Tools tab and select Diagnostics, select the device tab to reveal the IMEI number of your Glo Huawei modem.
Now I hope it will be easy for you to find the IMEI number of your 3G USB modem whether it’s Huawei or ZTE? If you cannot find the IMEI number of your modem, use the comment section below to ask your questions, I will be very delighted to help you find your modem’s IMEI number.
