How to copy windows 7 to a USB drive

You can backup your windows 7 on a USB flash drive. Flash drives are known for faster transfer on and off a computer and the ability to access the files even from another computer is an advantage that has made the use of USB flash drives a preferred medium of data storage and transfer.

So for the purposes of today’s post i will only be writing on how you can transfer your windows 7 to a USB flash drive. After creating that partition and choosing it, enter the word “active” then “format FS=fat32 quick”, this will prepare the drive, finish by typing in “assign”.

How to Copy Windows 7 to a USB Drive

Then copy your windows 7 DVD onto your USB flash drive. Now you have prepared and copied your windows 7 to a USB flash drive, you can format any system or install windows 7 from this USB drive anytime anywhere.

First, insert the USB flash in one of the ports on your computer, a notification will pop up to confirm the insertion of the USB drive.

Then run the diskpart of your windows 7 by simply clicking on the search bad and typing “diskpart” , after that type “list disk” to identify your USB drive and enter. Ensure to chose the correct disk as disk 0 will normally be the computer hard disk, so depending on the number of drives your system is partitioned, you will see a list of the drives in your computer, the best way to identify which is your USB drive is to look at the sizes of the drives to ensure choosing the accurate drive.

Then type “Choose disk 1” or 2,3 etc as the case may be to choose your accurate USB drive and press enter, type “clean” to format the flash drive, then type “create partition primary” and enter to create a data space, then you will type “choose partition 1” to choose the partition you just created.
