Am I the only person who thinks Whatsapp is the best alternative to Blackberry BBM? Whatsapp is probably the most popular messaging platform used on Smartphones today after Blackberry BBM. Whatsapp is a cross-platform app which means its available on any phone platform you use. Even Blackberry and iOS users who have inbuilt messaging apps on their device still use Whatsapp.
Whatsapp lets you share messages with your contacts, share multimedia files like audio, video, pictures, audio notes etc and it simply uses the internet to send your messages so you don’t attract your network’s fee for sending SMS and it operates worldwide for FREE!.

Hi Nwosu,
I heard somewhere that a person pays 150$/month only for chatting with his friends using his smartphone. Strange, right?
I think one should make use of these apps. And I have used Skype’s video call on my Tablet, but the video clarity is poor. I should have to try other apps that listed here also.
And thanks for listing the apps with download links.
Hello Mavtrevor,
This is indeed some great apps you mentioned. I am using skype and as well as whatsapp because they are the most used in Nigeria and to be honest, their features are great for any smartphones user. Thanks
Video clarity may depend on the tablet’s camera quality and network strength. All the same you can try other apps listed here and you will definitely save a lot of cost, i have personally tried them all. Thanks for your comment
Most importantly they help us save cost, do you have an estimate of how much these apps may have been saving you every month?
hi nwosu. i frequently use skype but haven’t used the rest because i have never heard of them excluding viber. my relatives are using viber but i am not because before i can install viber, my phone should be compatible with it. however, i am just using nokia c3 that does not accept viber.
Now you can use Viber on a computer, all the same i hope the skype saves you cost?
