BitTorrent client for Chromebooks

June 14, 2014 By Nwosu Desmond 4 Comments

The Chromebook has become common these days as more and more people are acquiring it for its cheap prices and simplicity. Recently I published an article on this blog titled “The frustrating truth about using Chromebook in Nigeria”; where I discussed the challenges people face using the Chromebook in developing countries such as Nigeria.

But some challenges of using Chromebook seems to be global in some aspects, one of the biggest complaints about Chromebooks is their lack of regular software as you have in Windows PCs and Mac. One of such complaints for long has been the lack of reliable and functional BitTorrent client for Chromebooks.

It will be wrong to assume that BitTorrent is only used for illegal purposes such as illegal movie and music downloads etc, companies also use BitTorrents to effectively distribute their software.

While it may seem like there is no way to install BitTorrent client on a Chromebook, there is an easy work around to this. With several Chrome apps developed to mimic or replicate traditional desktop functionality, downloading torrents on Chromebook has been made possible and easy too. I am not a fan of Torrent files and it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that I never really never made use of BitTorrent clients.

However, it is good knowing what these files can do and how to apply them for increased productivity when the ChromeBook is involved. I may just have to checkout JS Torrent and BitFord for increased productivity!

Bit torrent is definitely used for many legal things as well. But many use it for illegal downloads only. Anyway, chromebook will definitely lack many features, one shouldn’t expect all the features for low price.

That is the reason, chromepixel was announced from Google.

You have provided good resource to download files from Torrent, reading the review, it seems like a very good option. As long as there is some solution for the problem, problem is not a problem anymore.

Thanks, I found this on kingged.
