Why is your blog not successful?

Why Is Your Blog Not Successful?

Creating a blog is just the first step towards becoming a successful blogger. Once a blog is set up, you need to add high quality content and maintain the blog regularly. Sadly, not all blogs are successful. If you are wondering why your blog is not successful, then this article is for you. In this part, we are going to take a look at some of the reasons why a blog fails to succeed in attracting traffic and generating revenue and give out a couple of tips meant to ensure that your blog will get more success, but also traffic, thus making your Internet Marketing dreams become a little bit closer to reality.Blog

A Niche to Rule

One of the most common contributing factors to a blog’s failure is the lack of a common theme. Whether you are running a personal blog or a fully featured portal, you need to have a particular topic to focus on.

A tech blog, for instance, needs to discuss technology and other topics related to technology as its main theme. You can still add personal notes or other unrelated articles, but always try to keep the main theme of the blog dominant. With this in mind, if your blog focuses around a couple of more niches, then you will most probably have to give up some of them, at least for the beginning, as it would otherwise be quite hard to get the success that you are seeking.

Content Is Key

Never update a blog just for updating’s sake. You need to make sure your readers are catered well. This means creating high quality content that most readers will enjoy. Chances are that you may have already heard about the quote ‘Content is King’ and it easily applies to blogs like the one you may probably have. Content should not only be read by search engines, but also by users, as they are the ones to come back. Picture something: would you spend your time reading something from a blog which basically has unreadable content on it?

Another thing that often contributes to a blog’s failure is keyword spamming. Yes, adding keywords will help your SEO efforts greatly. Adding too many keywords into one article, however, will not. Not only will your search engine rankings be lowered, your readers will not return for more either.

Bad Design

No matter how good your contents are, you need your blog to be easily navigable and consistent in terms of design. Keep design elements in check and avoid adding too many ads or animations to a page.

Make sure the blog you are running loads quickly, and that all elements are purpose-built. If you feel your blog is too cluttered, try moving some of the elements to a different page. A good idea to fix the design issues would be to make a small investment and actually go ahead and hire a professional, as they will most probably be able to fix all of these issues and work with you to ensure that the blog is fully operational and the users do not encounter any problems while they are navigating on it.

No SEO

SEO is always a tricky subject to discuss. You’d want to have a good SEO strategy in place, but you would also want to keep the content organic. The key is to find a nice balance between these two sides of an SEO campaign.

Neglecting SEO altogether would be a mistake. Over 60% of today’s web traffic comes from search engines, so SEO should be an important part of your blog nonetheless. Implement simple SEO tips such as adding keywords to your title or blog description and you will see a great boost in traffic almost immediately.

Based on everything that has been outlined so far, you should have a better picture of what a blog needs in order to be successful at this moment in time. When you talk about SEO, is it more than writing a quality content and using good plugins like Yoast to set Keywords and SEO.
