The Facebook Notification Sound and how to Turn it Off

Few months ago Facebook started testing a new notification sound for whenever a user receives a notification and now I can tell you that Facebook has turned the notification sound on for every user. Now whenever I receive a notification, I will hear a DING! Notification sound on my PC, before now I am used to hearing the only the chat notification sound whenever I receive a new message on Facebook, but now there is a new notification sound whenever I receive a notification, it could be a reply on my update, a like on my picture, a poke…etc.

At first I liked the sound until I uploaded a picture everyone had something to say about, then I had an insight into how people with a lot of notifications will feel about this new notification sound. The new Facebook notification sound could be disturbing when you receive a lot of notifications, the notification sound could be really disturbing especially when am trying to compose a post for my blog, and I keep hearing the notification sounds. Am glad Facebook also made it easy to turn off this annoying notification sound.

How to turn off Facebook Notification Sound:

As much as the Facebook notification sound could come in handy for users with few notifications, it could be disturbing for others who receive a lot of notifications, so if you find yourself among those who doesn’t like this notification sound anymore, here is how to easily turn it off;

First, Go to your Facebook Account Settings and click on Notifications (Or simply click here),

Then click on the View on Facebook under the ‘How You Get Notifications’ section.

Then Uncheck the ‘Play a sound when each new notification is received’ and save changes.
