How to Receive and Reply Whatsapp Messages From Lock Screen

June 5, 2014 By Nwosu Desmond 4 Comments

Whatsapp is about the most used instant mobile social messaging app today in the world with over 500 million downloads/installs from the Play Stores. People use Whatsapp to exchange Text, Photo and video messages every day across several platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows and Symbian.

So many people use Whatsapp every day but do not know of this awesome feature on Whatsapp that lets you be able to receive and be able to reply your Whatsapp messages right from your lock screen even without having to unlock your phone.

Whatsapp Popup notification is indeed an awesome feature and not so many people are aware of it. With the Popup notification set to “Only when screen is Off”, you can be able to receive and reply Whatsapp messages from lock screen even without having to unlock your smartphone.

Popup notification will display incoming Whatsapp messages in a pop up window while your screen is locked and you can be able to quickly reply the messages even without the hassles of unlocking your phone, navigating to Whatsapp app to read or reply such messages.

Pop-up notification on Whatsapp is disabled by default so you will have to enable it to be able to display your incoming Whatsapp massages on your lock screen so you can be able to read, reply, close or view the messages on the main Whatsapp window.

How to Enable Popup Notifications in Whatsapp:

1. Launch your Whatsapp application

2. Navigate to the application Settings and tap on Notifications to open.

3. Scroll to Popup notification and tap on it.

Wow! I have no idea of this feature! ;) Possibly because I don’t have much time doing WhatsAPP.

Its good to know it now. One benefit I see is that it can help save time in the event of the user sending or replying to urgent message.

However, I have this concern that it may breach the privacy of the user if he is not with the phone! How can this be solved!
