Then install Whatsapp on your new Android smartphone from the Google Play Store. After the app installation, do not launch it yet.

Navigate to your Whatsapp/Databases folder on the Android smartphone. Paste the backup file you copied from the Blackberry into the folder.

Then launch the Whatsapp app you installed earlier on the Android, you will be asked to enter a phone number for verification, enter same phone number you used on the Blackberry phone and you will get a notification that backup was found on your device.

I have a BB Curve 9315 and it seems that it does not have an option for Settings >> “Chat Settings” >> “Backup Chat History” . I would appreciate if you can give an insight on how to transfer messages from this type of BB to an android phone.
    Thank you.

    Hi,

Can you use this procedure to transfer whatsapp history from Blackberry Q10 to an Android phone? I tried it but during restore, I got a message “Sorry, we were unable to restore any of your message history”.

My Andriod’s whatsapp back up conversation into .crypt8 file but Q10 back up into .crypt. Has this got anything to do with the history restoration failure.

    Thanks,
    Dennis

    4. I did transfer the back up files into my SD card hoping it can detect for restoring the messages, but failed.

Tried copying the backup Blackberry folder to my new Huawei device, and then launched WhatsApp, but does not work. Does not ask for restore option, goes straight to profile pic and does not restore history or contacts. Please advise.
