Social media plays a huge role in content marketing and a very important key distribution vehicle for contents. Social media shares allows for good contents to spread and reach a wider audience. But the question is what makes people share a post on Social media?
If we can understand what make people to share contents on Social media, then we can be able to recreate such every time we publish a piece of content and generally improve our social media share.
1. Useful Contents: People will most likely share contents they find very useful. A study by the NYTimes shows that a larger percentage (94%) of people share contents they find valuable and entertaining, considering how the information they share will be useful to others.
They say what you read and of course share defines you. If so, a good percentage (68%) of people share contents to define themselves to others, to give others a better sense of who they are and what they care about.
Over 78% of others share great contents they find online because it enables them to stay connected to people they may not otherwise stay in touch with. Others (69%) for self-fulfillment, because it allows them to feel more involved in the world.

If you want to get more people to share your posts on Social media, then try and publish only useful contents, contents that can solve people’s problems, contents that can add value to the reader and prompt him to share to his friends and family on the Social media.

Hi Nwosu,
Sure, those were some timeless tips to get one’s content shared and promoted on social media by readers. For an article to become eligible for this free social media promotion by users, it is supposed to have some traits. You have very well listed some important ones.
The quality and usefulness of the article is the main requisite. Without it, nothing other will help, if you ask me! :) It is the main reason why people are willing to share that particular stuff on social sites.
And as you mentioned, use of good images also play a prat in the process. My personal experiences also confirm this fact. I’ve spotted noticeable changes in the share stats upon using good, catchy and relevant images in my blog posts.
Share buttons are the basic requirement that each blog must satisfy. People will share if they find one. Otherwise, they won’t waste time to copy the url and share it on social sites!
A very useful article indeed! I found the link to it on Kingged.

Well, the first thing that makes people to share your content on social media is value inside the story as you stated in first point.
Post with value for general people, some funny information inside, feedback from some reputed and well know person inside the post, an eye catcher title etc. are easily shared by a large group of people on social sites.
Further I think, the responsiveness of a site can also help in doing so. As, more and more people are using mobile devices for exploring sites over internet. A well responsive site with integrated share buttons will encourage users to share the story with their friends too, as the process becomes easy with a good mobile site design.
Last but not least, a call to action is something that makes people to perform the operation. So, if you are sharing some post on social media as per marketing perspective, keep in mind to add a call to action.
Anyways, Thanks for sharing the post here on Kingged.com.
