The result of Facebook’s partnership with Skype is the Facebook Video Calling. Facebook video calling has been around for over a year and yet many people may either not know about it or just don’t use it. Facebook has grown to become the biggest social network and with the stiff competition from Google plus and other social networks, Facebook has decided to match their status with the best technologies to edge out their competitors. Facebook decided to partner with Skype to add this feature so that Facebook users can now make video calls with their friends from different parts of the world and actually see each other while chatting. Chat couldn’t be more fun than a face to face real-time chat.

How do I setup Facebook Video Calling?

To setup your Facebook video calling, follow my easy instructions below and complete a quick one-time setup and start making video calls with your Facebook buddies today.

Requirements:
A computer with either an internal or external webcam
A microphone
A fast internet connection
You and a friend

First login to your Facebook account

Then visit the Facebook Video Calling page

Click on the “Get Started” button to get started

You Facebook chat list will be loaded on the  right hand corner of your browser

Click on a friend you want to have a video call with and click on the little video icon on your chat tab

You will be required to download and install a plugin to make your Facebook video call, so a pop up will request for you to download the Facebook Video Calling plugin  FacebookVideoCallSetup.exe , a file of about 482kb.  If yoou don’t see any download like that click here to download the plugin.

On completion  of download, “Run” the downloaded file to install it on your computer.

Once the installation has been completed you are now ready to start making your first Facebook video call with any of your friends.  Choose any of your friends and call the person, your friend may have to setup his/her Facebook video call just like you did for this to be possible. Don’t worry if they can get the procedure, Facebook will require them to download and install same Facebook Video Calling plugin you installed.
