[Quick Tip] How to disable network cell broadcast on HTC ONE X

Network Cell broadcast can be annoying most times with their incessant messages notifying you of one unnecessary offer or the other. Imagine receiving 200 cell broadcasts within a minute, draining your battery or distracting your job with unnecessary notification sounds.

This post is not specific for only those using HTC ONE X alone, it could apply for most other Android smartphones running on the Android 4.2.2 Jellybean operating system. Some smartphones may not actually have this option to turn off the network cell broadcast.

Cell broadcasts can be quite annoying and contacting your network provider may not solve the problem as this option differs in different smartphones. They do not have any working solution.

Disable cell broadcast in HTC ONE X

When you travel a lot with the HTC ONE X smartphone and receive huge numbers of such annoying notifications every time you move from one zone to another. You will find it hard to use your phone as the notifications disrupts every second of the day and deleting or blocking the number don’t seem to work. The only option will be to disable it just as i have explained in this article.

Disable HTC ONE X Cell Broadcast

So if you are using a HTC ONE X smartphone running on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS, or any other Android smartphone running on same OS version and wants to disable the network cell broadcast messages, follow the simple instructions below.

Go to your HTC ONE X smartphone “Settings”

Navigate to the “Call” option

Uncheck the “Cell broadcast” option.

Disable cell broadcast in HTC ONE X

When you disable it will ask you to erase all channels, just press OK. It’s the same/similar setting on other HTC phones or most other Android smartphones.

    Awesome tip. I had that go off once during an exam. It freaked everyone out just because the noise it makes is from the Emergency Broadcasting System.
