    Of course they run on your systems resources and may not have serious effects on battery though, because the developers must have considered battery life while making the apps.

    Android launcher is important if you want to enjoy using your android. The same also apply to HTC my touch 4G, without a launcher the phone is not as sweet as it is suppose to be.
