7 Symptoms Indicating You Should Become an Entrepreneur

December 4, 2015 By Daniel Dob 1 Comment

People generally assume that entrepreneurship is for everyone, while nothing can be farther from the truth. It allows liberty, but also expects so much from you. Are you up to the task? Check out these seven marks of a good entrepreneur and see for yourself!entrepreneur

  1. You Push Yourself

Taking initiative in your own hands is of paramount importance in entrepreneurship. You have to be your own boss, you need to hang over your hand. You can rest as much as you want, but be prepared to pay the price for it. If you don’t push yourself, no one else will. How will you recognize if you’re a self-pusher? It’s easy. Have you ever done any volunteer work? Have you ever earned money by freelancing? All these are good signs that you don’t need another person to get things done.

  1. You Have a Passion

Remember – having a phlegmatic personality type is not something that works well with entrepreneurship. If you hate what you do, the odds are that you won’t make it alone. This is especially true if you take into consideration that being a self-made business(wo)man is hardly something that happens over. If you’re ready for losses, you will be ready for great payouts later.

  1. You Are a People Person

Now, let’s get this straight – being a loner does not exclude you from being a good entrepreneur, but it does make the whole ordeal more difficult. As an entrepreneur, you want people to enjoy your presence; but even more than that, you need to enjoy being around people. Otherwise, making business contacts may prove difficult.

  1. You Don’t Take ‘No’ For an Answer

Remember: people who give up easily simply aren’t cut out to be entrepreneurs. It’s sad, it’s cruel, but that is how things simply are. You constantly need to push against the overwhelming odds, to be in the constant state of ‘Athanasius contra mundum.’ When things go the wrong way, your initial reaction shouldn’t be to give up, but to push harder.

  1. You’re a Creative Person

Remember – creativity isn’t a trait that’s only for artists. You need to be creative, but in a different way than an artist is meant to be. The creativity should manifest in business, not objects of art. You need to be innovative in solving problems, original in approaching people and creative when it comes to your business.

  1. You’re a Fighter

Ever wondered why the big companies tend to hire famous sportspeople for their campaigns? It’s simple – in our minds, those are people who push forward, who fight and who don’t give up. Take their advice and do as well.

  1. You Work Hard

This is the most important characteristic. When all things are considered, trying your best to push your limits is the distinguishing mark that separates you from people who simply aren’t cut up to be entrepreneurs. If you work long hours and can manage it, then entrepreneurship is a thing for you.

Based on everything that has been outlined so far, while becoming an entrepreneur might seem like a real challenge to some, if you own any of these traits, then chances are that the road is already half paved for you.

What do you personally think about the symptoms? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
